Shuffle is one of a slew of h-game conversions that have been released the past few years, and like almost all of them, it was an instant hit.

The story revolves around Tsuchimi Rin, who has been living the past eight years with his childhood friend Kaede after his parents died.

Their life is peaceful for the most part, with the exception of the scuffles with the Kito Kito Kaede fan club who worship Kaede. However things take an interesting turn when their class gets two new transfer students, Sia and Rin are the daughters of the King of Gods and King of Demons; and they have their eyes set on Tsuchimi to be their husband.

This causes his quiet life to be suddenly turned upside down, as the new fanclubs for these girls join forces with the KKK and start pursuing Rin.

As the show progresses we gain a few more girls in the mix, Primula, a strange child from the demon realm, and Asa a friend of Tsuchimi.

There are a few twists and turns in the show, enough so to keep you interested and watching. I’m a huge fan of Primula, who’s just so damned cute >.<

Animation wise the show is lacking in a few places, especially where they show walking, it looks a bit flunky. However the good story and music make up for the few animation glitches.

Sadly, this series did fall into the stereotype of ‘Season 2 fails’. Season 2 of this is Shuffle Memories, which is really nothing more than a retelling of the first series, and sadly has a large number of animation problems that make an already bad show worse.

On the other hand the manga, seem’s to be pretty good. It allows the exploration of the characters better than the anime could. This is essential since it allows greater insight into Primula’s, Rin’s, and Sia’s personality. Which do have a few unique points to them.
