Nodame Cantible OP and ED’s

Through out the season i was giving rave reviews of this series, and to be honest i do still feel it’s a great series. The animation was superb, the story and pace even better, the characters were just amazing.

The other thing was how it followed the manga, unlike other shows who tend to go off in every direction possible, Nodame stayed fairly true to the source manga.

Nodame also has a Live Action (which sucked big time IMO), and an orchestra that performed the music for both. Also a rarely was the number of albums the show produced, over 20 in all. Very few shows have that many albums, and those that do are usually long running shows.

After all of that praise, why was it the biggest disappointment?

It’s the final episode, up until the half way mark it was okay, i was getting into it. Then they went into hyper speed trying to cram as much of the manga into the last 10 minutes, as a result the ending was terrible, and was so plainly rushed as to be painful. There was so much of the manga they just skipped or crammed into the ED as still shots it was ridiculous. They also changed parts which they shouldn’t of. For example Nodame’s history, which was a big thing in the manga is pretty much brushed off in the anime.

Then there’s the interaction between Chiaki and Nodame while they’re at her folks home. This is an important time since it shows Chiaki showing his true feelings for Nodame, which he hadn’t really done fully before. There was easily enough material for another 2 or 3 episodes, but they crammed it into 10 minutes and ruined the entire series for me.

I’ll admit i still like the show, and think it was well done, however that last episode is crucial, since it can easily make or break a series, in this case it broke it.
