About the Manga
Sadly this volume failed to solve the issues I have with the series, rather it just leaves me with a lost feeling.
The cover of this volume is pretty nice, I like it it just as I’ve liked the others. Sadly the good cover is all that’s good about it.
As with the previous volumes the art is, well, crap. The inconsistencies are really evident in this volume for some reason. As are the terrible comic style characters.
Kang only seems to really apply himself (or herself), during the close up panels, which is a shame since it’s clear he has skill. If this skill had been applied through out the series in a more consistent manner, it would have been a lot better.
As previously mentioned the stick thin characters are a real issue for me, as are the similarities between the characters. It’s really hard to keep track of whose who when they all look similar. You can’t really enjoy a series if you’re having to remind yourself who is who every few minutes.
Story wise, it’s still feeling disjointed and rushed, especially so in this volume. Things take place so fast it’s a little hard to follow. I think an extra volume would have been more appropriate, allowing the story to come to a close more naturally.
This volume includes a couple of time slips that really needed better indicators to say they’d happened. What’s more the characters after time had passed were just as annoying as they were originally. Everything about them suggested the time slip wasn’t real, I mean the characters looked and sound exactly like they had previously.
One thing I will say is that the ending itself was rather cute, if a bit quick for my liking.
I can’t judge this series fairly though at the moment, I’m still missing the early volumes released by IceK. Once Yen rerelease them I’ll do a full overview of the series.
Yen Press do their usual good job, though I have noticed that the paper in manhwa seems to be different to that in their manga. Its not bad per say, but it doesn’t look or feel up to the quality we’ve seen previously. Also, once again we have no guttering issues to speak of, which is always a plus.
