About the Mangaka
Once again, sadly, I couldn’t find anything on either SeungHee Han, nor on JinSeok Jeon. If you have any info, please use the contact form and let me know.
About the Manga
WOW this volume was awesome!!
I’m really not sure what to make of the art in this series, on the one hand it looks bad. For me it’s overly black and white with no real shades of grey. However on the other hand it really does fit the story.
I have to admit though that I do find the art a bit off putting at times, through out the series the characters look like they haven’t slept in a year. I don’t know why, but it makes them all look really evil, even the good characters.
This volume wraps up the Socrates story that was started last time. I have to admit that I nearly killed myself laughing over the ending, it’s one of the funniest I’ve seen for a while.
The main story, takes an interesting turn this volume as well, with events taking a new twist. I found that the story flowed a lot better this volume than it has previously, hopefully it’ll continue though out the remainder of the series
I do like the end notes by JinSeok, it’s always great to hear about how they came up with something, and equally good to know where they got their research from. It helps to flesh out the story IMO.
Yen Press do a good as job as I’ve come to expect with the translation, though there is some guttering issues; it’s not to bad. This series maintains it’s place on my Essential Read list. This is a series that I do recommend, but be warned the content is definitely a touch on the shonen-ai side. So if that’s not your thing give it a miss. Though if you’re open minded, give it a try you’ll like it

The art has always been a turn off for me as well. I could seldom make it past the cover to even look inside. I know a good manga is about more than just the art. And I’ve read many a manga where the art is the manga’s weakest aspect. But if I can’t stand the look of the art at all, I’d rather read a novel than a manga.
