About the Mangaka

Not a lot of info available on Lee Eun, and what is available seems to be conflicting. According to Wikipedia Lee is a film director, though there is no mention of this in the brief biography available at the front of this volume.

Her other manhwa include: Monica, The Eye of the Dragon and The Rebellion of the 36°Cs

About the Manga

What can I say, other than FREAKING AWESOME!!

I really loved this volume, I found myself being sucked into it without even trying. One of the best manhwa I’ve read in ages.

Like I thought from the previous volume this series is a compilation of short stories, though with a common thread in the form of that weird guy. Still trying to get my mind around that element.

While the previous volume has two stories in it, this one has only the one, and it’s better off for it I think.

Because it’s only the one story, Lee is able to take her time and develop it perfectly. Her art in this volume is great, with just enough darkness to give me the creeps. There are some seriously funny elements in the art this time, that had me chuckling, but there were also some sad bits that were drawn just right.

The story, because there’s more room, is able to spread it’s wings and show itself off to its best. The characters this time are able to breath, and show off their personality off, something a bit lacking from the previous volume.

I especially liked the development between the two characters this time around. It’s typical though how the answer is right in front of them all along, but they always seem to miss the point hehe. Though I suppose if they got it straight away then the story wouldn’t be as good I guess.

I’m still trying to get the previous volumes to try and understand the common thread between the stories. Since I’m not sure if it’s got an underlying story or not. However I am now looking forward to the next volume.

The pinnacle for me has got to be the cover, I absolutely love the cover art for this volume. It’s one of the best I’ve seen.

Yen Press do their usual great job on this volume, with a good flowing translation, with only minor guttering. Though not to the extent of damaging the book spine. No extras as such, there’s a brief message about what worry dolls are, but other than that it’s ads for the other manhwa Yen are releasing.

I’d like to add this to my Essential Read list, but I’m not going to until I’ve been able to read the other volumes. They were supposed to have been republished by now, but still nothing yet :(
