Many thanks to Yen Press for providing a review copy.
About the Creator
I’ve never heard of Jason Kruse before, and rather than copy/pasting the info that I’ve found, I think it’s better to direct you to his site. One thing of note is that World of Quest is going to be made a cartoon series, sadly I doubt we Brits will get to see it anytime soon
About the Comic

Another bloody funny volume of comic mayhem and child abuse!!
I have to admit, that the length of time between volumes is going to be a huge stumbling block of this series. Volume one was released in November of 2007, and volume two in December 2008, some thirteen months later.
This is extremely bad, in manga it would be bad enough, but in a kids comic it’ll be what kills a series before it begins. Kids attention spans are a lot less than an adults, and their fads change almost daily. So what they like a year ago is not always what they’ll like now.
However the fact there’s a TV cartoon of the series could swap things in it’s favour.
Anyway, onto the volume.
Like volume one it’s in full colour, and it looks pretty awesome for it. Jason’s characters are funny as hell as always, and quest takes his child abuse to a new level of funniness.
Because it’s a kids story the progression is what you’d expect, mostly episodic with a smooth transition. The various comedy scenes are well done, and to be honest I nearly killed myself laughing.
Sadly, like it’s other volume it’s rather short and once again it leaves you unsatisfied with the ending. What’s more there’s no information on when volume three is coming out, or even if it’s coming out. This is I hope an oversight and the Yen Press web-site simply needs to be updated. If it turns out there are no more volumes to come, I will be very disappointed and extremely mad.
Either way I hope we don’t have to wait another thirteen months for information.
I’m adding this to my Essential Read List, cause I’ve not laughed so hard with a comic book in years, even a lot of the comedy manga don’t carry the humour as well as this series does.
